Cantine Aperte a Natale & LoVolio Extravergine 2014

Yesterday, 7th December, was a wonderful sunny day for “Cantine Aperte a Natale” and “Lovolio Extravergine”. Dedicated to lovers of wine and olive oil, this was the final date on 2014’s rich calendar of events organized by MTVPuglia with support from the Regione Puglia Agro-Food Resources Office. From the north to the south of Puglia, the event featured olive oil presses Maria Cristina Bisceglia at Mattinata (Fg), Galantino at Bisceglie (Bt), Oro di Trani at Trani (Bt), Il Frantoio at Ostuni (Br). The wineries involved wereAlberto Longo at Lucera (Fg), La Cantina di Andria at Andria, Villa Schinosa at Trani, Terre di San Vito at Polignano a mare (Ba), Vetrère at Montemesola (Ta), Carvinea at Carovigno (Br), Mottura at Tuglie (Le), Cupertinum and Marulli at Copertino (Le). The oil presses and wineries also organised many other interesting activities for their visitors, and typical local products, music, shows and cultural events accompanied the main events of the day alongside the traditional tours of the wineries and oil presses with the chance to taste the wines and oils they produce. It really was a wonderful day for tourists, enthusiasts and curious visitors to “taste” some new places, discover the wineries and oil presses and meet the producers, as well as having the chance to try and buy the wines and olive oils right where they are made. In the pre-Christmas season, this double event was also a great opportunity to buy some really interesting gifts.
