Cantine Aperte in Vendemmia
The wineries are opening their doors again for“Cantine Aperte in Vendemmia”onSunday 14th September. The name is new, but the format is the same for this event dedicated to one of the most fascinating moments in the wine-growing year. Here is an opportunity to spend a Sunday at the end of summer with the family or with friends on a visit to one of the wineries taking part, where you can meet the producers and taste their wines. The event has been created and organized by the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia exclusively for its member wineries, and is made possible by its partnership with the Regione Puglia Agro-Food Resources Office. “The seasons of wine are the steady rhythm of renewed expertise. So September and the grape harvest retell the age-old story, almost a ritual mystery, of a fruit which transforms into nectar. We have become great, respected and recognized in this field– explains Regional OfficerFabrizio Nardoni–and our native varieties of all this tradition have become standard-bearers, our producers have become ambassadors. Opening the wineries, is therefore a good marketing tool linked to the co-branding between agriculture and tourism and it also gives a really unique chance to take a close look at a leap forward in terms of quality. In addition, it provides more information about what the whole world recognizes as our heritage, something even the people of Puglia still need to learn about and fully appreciate”. In order to make this event even more interesting, visitors to the wineries will also be able to see the harvest, the grapes arriving at the winery and the first stages of wine-making. As usual, the wineries involved will organize special events, such as art shows, live music and dance performances, and wine-tasting with other typical local products to try. “Coming atthe end of the Movimento Turismo del Vino’s programme of summer events,-explainsSebastiano de Corato, President of the Movimento Turismo del Vino Puglia-Cantine Aperte in Vendemmia is definitely the most interesting occasion for wine tourists, because they can be there to experience what is the most important, delicate and fascinating moment of the year for a winery. This is the day when the Movimento’s motto “Vedi cosa bevi” (“See what you drink”) becomes concrete reality and the wine-growers can show all the quality, care and passion that they dedicate to their product”.
