Puglia Wine & EVO Road Show

October brings Puglia’s wines and oils to Italy’s two capitals, Rome and Milan, with the sixth edition ofPuglia Wine & EVO Road Show- a programme involving the top wine bars of the two cities in promotional events organized by theMovimento Turismo del Vino Puglia. The 2015 edition will start with two press conferences, an indication of this event’s prestige: inMilanonMonday 21st Septemberat theHotelBaglioni Carltonpresented by sparkling “sommelier blogtrotter”Adua Villaand inRomeonTuesday 22nd Septemberat theBaglioni Hotel Reginawith the special participation of “State sommelier”Alessandro Scorsone. These two top wine authorities and thePresident of the Consortium Sebastiano de Coratowill present the event to the public, journalists, wine bar owners, restaurateurs and experts and tell them about Puglia’s wines and the passion of the region’s wine-growers. We are proud to present Puglia’s rich wine growing culture and equally rich and delicious extra virgin olive oils, in this year which sees Italian agri-food on show at Expo 2015. ” Twenty-fourselectedwine barsin the two cities will host the event from1st to 31st October.In rotation they will hostthe wines of members of MTV Puglia and the EVOs of the oil producers belonging toBuonaterra,the oil producers’ association partner ofMovimento Turismo dell’Olio. All month there will be promotionalcorners, theme showcases and daily tasting sessionsdedicated to these two giants ofPuglia’s agri-food sector. A discovery and re-discovery of Puglia’s most illustrious wines- Nero di Troia,Primitivo,Negroamaro -, and also many new wines, as well as excellent olive oils and the typical products of the region’s outstanding gastronomic traditions. Puglia does not only mean wines, but also extra virgin olive oil, and the precious “green gold” is there to explore, taste, enhance and appreciate both on its own and in conserves. This is why in Milan, capital this year of international agri-foods with Expo 2015, the programme has been expanded. It now includessix Puglian restaurants,who will make excellent use of oils and wines, with typical menus accompanied by the wines from the participating wineries; the finishing touch to dishes will be the unmistakable flavor of Puglia’s extra virgin olive oil. Three thousand six hundred bottlesfromthirty producersbelonging to the Consortium are ready to invade the two cities with happy hours and tasting events, and to tell wine lovers, wine bar owners, enthusiasts old and new about the two facets – tradition and innovation – of Puglia’s wines from Daunia to the Salento.
